Frequently Asked Questions
Infusions and Shots
What is an infusion?
Doing an infusion or a shot means you are receiving a liquid mixture of vitamins and minerals through a small tube inserted into a vein. This allows the nutrients to be absorbed quickly and directly into the bloodstream. This produces higher levels of the vitamins and minerals in your body than if you got them from food or supplements.
Should I be well hydrated?
Your body will be more responsive if you are hydrated prior to starting the IV. Also, if you are low on fluids the veins in your arms will be smaller and they tend to hide when we are looking for the best site to start your infusion. So, don’t forget to drink a few glasses of water before you start.
Can I come in an empty stomach?
Please do come in a full stomach. Some of the vitamins and minerals can cause nausea if infused on an empty stomach. So, we suggest you have your yummy food intake before going to your appointment.
Will I be able to relax?
Once you are seated waiting for your infusion to begin, just take a few minutes to relax. Close your eyes and take deep breaths. This will help release any nervous tension and prepare you for your treatment.
How long does it take?
Our infusions normally take 45 minutes to 1 hours depending on how your vein takes in the infusion and the type of infusion you will be receiving. Our shots normally takes about 10-15 mins for the whole procedure if you just need an on-the-go booster. This time is yours so enjoy!
What should I wear?
We would recommend a short sleeve top or sleeves that can be rolled up above the elbow.
