Frequently Asked Questions
What is Hollywood Peel?
A no-downtime procedure that helps rejuvenate the appearance of aging and damaged skin. This gentle procedure is safe on most skin types and is a great way to get a quick skin refresher without the longer downtime associated with other laser procedures. Spectra Hollywood Peel not only improves uneven pigment, but can also reduce the appearance of textural irregularities, fine lines and tightens your pores.
What machine do you use?
We use the Spectra Machine Nd:YAG Laser.
This machine is widely known for Hollywood Peel or Carbon Laser Treatment.
How does it work?
The laser energy works in two ways, first it gently targets the melanin (pigmentation) in the cells breaking it up for your body’s natural removal processes, and second it heats deep in the dermis causing the skin to contract and stimulate collagen reproduction.
How many sessions do I need?
Because the treatment is gentle, multiple passes are needed in order to obtain optimal results. Also, depending on the condition of your actual skin our specialists will advise you on the best intervals for your treatment.
How is it done?
We will first cleanse your skin and then apply the Spectra lotion (carbon) to your face. Then, Laser energy lightly removes Spectra Lotion (carbon) while heating dermis and lightly ablating the top layer of dead skin. The laser energy breaks up pigment, that is then carried away by your body, and heats the skin while at the same time stimulating the building of collagen for skin tightening and rejuvenation.
Is There Any Downtime?
It has no downtime and minimal side effects, you may immediately return to your daily activities.
Does Hollywood Laser Peel Hurt?
The majority of patients report no pain, they only experience a slight warming of their skin and a light prickling feeling. Typically, no anesthesia or topical is needed for this treatment.
How about sun exposure?
Don’t expose your skin to the Sun! 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after a laser hair treatment to avoid burning the treated area.
I just applied a bleaching and chemical peel. Can I do a laser treatment?
No. Don’t bleach or apply any skin peeling agent on any area you wish to have the treatment on.
I am pregnant. Can I do a laser treatment?
We would prefer for you to be safe and sound so please let us know if you are pregnant or might be pregnant.
Should I worry about some redness?
The treated area may show redness and some inflammation if this happens just apply our post treatment Calming Lotion. Post-treatment skincare instructions must be followed to prevent any complications.
